Chemistry Summer School 2019: Experiencing Bandung’s Life, Science, Culture, and Heritage; come and join us!
Chemistry Summer School: Experiencing Bandung’s Life, Science, Culture, and Heritage will be held on July 21 – August 2 2019, at The Chemistry Department of Institut Teknologi Bandung (Ganesha Campus, Jalan Ganesha No. 10), West Java, Indonesia. The program will include a seminar, practical courses, workshops, Bandung tour, and many more.
Within 2 weeks, participants will be introduced to various topics in chemistry such as spectroscopy, analytical separation, electron microscopy, natural dyes and pigments, and sorption technology. Within a series of practical courses and workshops, participants will get a hands-on experience on isolation Indonesian natural pigments as well as making your own Batik. Batik is an Indonesian traditional fabric with distinct patterns that is made through waxing and dyeing. On top of that, you will experience Bandung life and locals’ hospitality as we tour the beautiful city and various tourist attractions.
This program is designed and designated for 2nd and/or 3rd year undergraduate students of Chemistry/Chemistry related programs. Registration fee is Rp 2.000.000 for Indonesian students and USD 200 for international students. Registration fee for international students from ITB partner universities and institutions will be waived. Lodging, meals, and city tour will be provided throughout the program. In addition, credit transfer (3 credits) is available upon request.
