Bandung fmipa.itb.ac.id – 2015 National Symposium on Innovation and Science Learning (snips) which was held on Monday-Tuesday, June 8 to 9 2015, at Aula Barat and Aula Timur, ITB, is a vehicle and a mean to exchange thoughts, ideas, and experiences for many people who are struggling in the world of science and science education, ranging from the study of science, which teaches science and utilize the application of science, to which only a connoisseur of science. The Symposium was held by the Dean of FMIPA, Prof. Dr. Edy Tri Baskoro, and featured by two main speakers who have worked for decades in the world of science education, namely Prof. Dr.Eng. Zaki Su’ud who is also a member of the National Education Standards Agency (BSNP) in the period 2014-2018, and Prof. Dr. M. Salman. A.N. who is a professor of Mathematics ITB.

A total of 309 people signed up to participate in this symposium, with 256 abstracts were accepted for presentation in eight parallel sessions. The participants came from all over 50 educational and research institutions throughout Indonesia. The themes presented are diverse and the researches of the world of education and science learning. There are nine groups of topics provided, namely learning, innovations, materials, energy, instrumentation, earth, theoretical, computational modeling and others. By convening snips 2015, the expected understanding of science and the teaching of science and its applications will continue to increase, so that it can contribute significantly to improving the quality of education and life in Indonesia.
