Bandung, fmipa.itb.ac.id – FMIPA ITB andResearch Consortium Financial Modeling, Optimization and Simulation (FinanMOS) – P2MS ITB has held Workshops on Serial Mathematicians in Their Works. The first session was the about Investment Manager, held on Saturday , June 13, 2015, from 8:00 am to 13:00 pm. The event was held in the auditorium East Campus Center Building in ITB Campus and was attended by 43 participants. They came from UPI, SMAN 2 Bandung, and ITB. The event was opened by Dr. Saladin Uttunggadewa and moderated by Dr. Rieske Hadianti. The first program was talk shows about sharing the speakers’ experience, mostly alumni of Mathematics ITB, in their works and discussing career opportunities for mathematicians as investment managers. From the insurance there was Novi Imelda (Chief Investment Officer Financial IAI) and from asses management there was Rima Suhaimi, Yanne Zulfia and Yuni Aryani Husain, who are CEO, Director, and Equity Analyst PT RHB-OSK Asset Management respectively, and also Zulfa Hendri (Director of PT Danareksa Capital). Representatives from banking was Ari Priatna. The second program was a workshop on how to invest in the stock market which was carried out by a team of PT RHB-OSK Asset Management. According to Rima Suhaimi which is not a Mathematician, excellence of undergraduate mathematics is the logic, steps and flows, which is the key factor in resolving problems. Therefore, a degree in mathematics can work and succeed in various areas, including to investment managers. (NS)
