BANDUNG, fmipa.itb.ac.id, - Standard laboratory procedures based on ISO laboratory competency standards are currently a requirement in today's industrial world. Introduction to these competencies for final-year and postgraduate chemistry students is highly emphasized in understanding laboratory activity standards. Although this is a priority in the academic curriculum in chemistry study programs, however, competency, implementation, andcases in the industry require the views of practitioners from the industry.

The ITB Chemistry Study Program in collaboration with the ITB Chemistry Alumni Association (IAKI) and HMK’AMISCA’ ITB once again held a competency-based training ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Awareness training in its fourth year since its inception. This training was held for two days, namely November 1-2, 2025 in the Dalton Room, FMIPA ITB, and was attended by 50 participants from final year students and graduates of the undergraduate and postgraduate chemistry study programs of FMIPA ITB.. Kegiatan ini membahas terkait penggunaan standar uji dan kalibrasi laboratorium berbasis ISO 17025:2017 yang membahas beberapa klausul standar Laboratorium dari sudut pandang praktisi di industri. Selain itu, peserta juga diberikan kesempatan dalam menganalisis dan mempresentasikan kasus-kasus yang terjadi dalam penerapan ISO/IEC 17025:2017 ini di laboratorium.

The student coordinator of the Chemistry study program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) ITB, Dr. Muhammad Yudhistira Azis, M.Si., stated that this activity is a routine activity before or after the ITB graduation period (April and October). This training is the seventh time it has been held since October 2022, strengthening communication between prospective alumni or young alumni with senior alumni who have expertise in the field of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Laboratory certification.
The Head of the undergraduate chemistry study program of FMIPA ITB, Dr. Rusnadi, M.Si, highly appreciates this activity which has been running routinely for 4 years to facilitate and provide good insight so that prospective alumni and young alumni can be better prepared for the next level in facing the industrial world.
This activity was also attended by speakers who are also experienced ITB chemistry alumni and experts in their fields, namely Asep Rohiman, S.Si., M.Si (KI'03, Geological Survey Center (PSG), Geological Agency of KESDM-Avogadro Inovasi Indonesia). Kegiatan ini juga didukung dari beberapa perusahaan dan Lembaga training kompetensi yang dimiliki oleh alumni kimia ITB yaitu NADISO LAB, PT. Avogadro Inovasi Indonesia dan PT. Aljabar Anugrah Selaras- Training & Consulting (MYA)
