GARUT, fmipa.itb.ac.id, - Garut is synonymous with colorful culinary delights: dodol (sweetened sticky rice cake), chips, and various snacks. But… are the dyes used safe? 👀
Today, ITB's FMIPA Analytical Chemistry lecturers went directly to SMAN 1 Garut to strengthen teacher competency and students' scientific literacy.
Dr. Muhammad Yudhistira Azis, M.Si explains that dye analysis is very important for public health.
"Students need to know that science is not just about making products, but also about analyzing, thinking critically, and solving problems," he said.
The Garut Chemistry MGMP teachers were also enthusiastic.
"This is very helpful. We finally understand a lot of misconceptions," he said. Deden Wahyudin, M.Pd.
Through practical modules, conventional analysis, and visual computing, this activity opens up new insights: learning chemistry can be close to everyday life!
