BANDUNG, fmipa.itb.ac.id, -Himpunan Mahasiswa Kimia or Chemistry Student Association Institut Teknologi Bandung (HMK AMISCA ITB) has successfully held the National Chemistry Competition ITB or OKTAN ITB 2024. The highlight of the OKTAN ITB 2024 event took place on Saturday-Sunday (January 27-28, 2024) in the Multipurpose Hall CRCS Building, ITB Ganesha Campus, Bandung.

This prestigious event carried the theme "Chemical Entrepreneurship: Bridging Innovations for Sustainable Future” with the aim of encouraging the younger generation to develop innovative solutions in the field of chemistry that are sustainable and environmentally friendly.

Since it was first held in 2002, OKTAN ITB has become a forum for pupils and students to show their talents and interests in the field of chemistry. This event is also a platform to build collaboration and networks between the young generations who have a passion for chemistry.

OKTAN ITB 2024 series of events include:

• Haru Guru Webinar: A seminar to provide education and knowledge about innovative teaching methods to high school/equivalent teachers.
• CRYSTAL (Chemistry Biggest National Competition): Chemistry competition at high school/equivalent level which was attended by 588 teams from all over Indonesia, with a total of 1,176 students participating.
• ISOTERM (Indonesia’s Innovative Research Competition): National scientific writing competition for undergraduate students with 120 participating teams.
• Chemtalk: A talk show about chemistry with the theme “Chemical Entrepreneurship: Bridging Innovation to Build a Business” presented by Chemistry ITB alumni, such as CBD from PT Innovation Hijau Indonesia, Eunike Kartika Salduna, M.Si., and CEO of Strivechem Indonesia, Syauqi Amin.
• Work Exhibition: Displays various works and innovations in the field of chemistry from various educational institutions and industry.
