BANDUNG, fmipa.itb.ac.id —Physics Learning Innovation: Physics and Advanced Materials Technology Scientific Group FMIPA ITB Collaborating with MGMP Physics Semarang City and SMA Negeri 3 Semarang was held in Semarang on August 21 2025. A physics learning workshop using smartphone-based experimental methods was successfully held at SMAN 3 Semarang, presenting synergy between SMAN 3 Semarang, MGMP Physics Semarang City and the Group Advanced Materials Technology Physics (FTMM) FMIPA ITB. This event was officially opened by Drs. Yuwana, M. Kom. who is the Head of SMAN 3 Semarang, followed by a speech and introduction from the Advanced Materials Technology Physics Scientific Group (FTMM) FMIPA ITB by Prof. Dr. Pepen Arifin.

The workshop was led by Dr. Dian Ahmad Hapidin, S.Si., M.Si., with the aim of introducing more interactive physics learning innovations to teachers. A total of 80 physics teachers from various high schools in Semarang City attended and enthusiastically took part in the activity which was initiated to provide a new color in teaching physics in the classroom.

"Today's students are starting to not like Physics, which is different from the past. Therefore, a program was created that was related to physics experiments. The reason why SMAN 3 Semarang was chosen was because there was a desire to bring several physics professors to the high school. Apart from that, this event was not attended by just a few teachers. Therefore, we contacted the head of the Physics MGMP to discuss further regarding this workshop." said Prof. Dr. Pepen Arifin.

Physics Learning Through Smartphone Based Experiments
The event then continued with a presentation regarding information about ITB Physics delivered by Dr. Dhewa Edikresnha, B.Eng., M.Si. In his presentation, Dr. Dhewa emphasized that physics has many important benefits that students need to understand in the current era. Therefore, to improve competence and mastery of physics, teachers in Semarang City and surrounding areas who are interested in continuing their studies are encouraged to study at the ITB Physics Teaching Master's Study Program.
