GREENLABS, AN ITB CHEMISTRY STARTUP, WON REAL TECH HOLDING SINGAPORE AWARD AT TECHPLANTER DEMO DAY
BANDUNG, fmipa.itb.ac.id, –Greenlabs, a startup engaged in the field of biochemicals and palm oil utilization consisting of master’s students in Chemistry and lecturers from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), has received an award from Real Tech Holding Singapore at the Techplanter Demo Day event, a Deep Tech Startups acceleration program in Southeast Asia.
Greenlabs is one of dozens of startups taking part in the competition, which was held by Techplanter, a platform that focuses on accelerating startups with high technology. Demo Day was the final stage of the acceleration program, where participants consisting of nine selected finalists competed to present their ideas and products to investors and judges.
In their presentation, the Greenlabs team succeeded in presenting innovations in environmentally friendly utilization of palm oil and biochemicals to reduce carbon dioxide gas emissions and increase the sustainability of the green economy in Indonesia. Greenlabs has developed an efficient and sustainable technology to obtain important biochemical components from palm oil that are not toxic to humans, animals, and environment, as well as to utilize vegetable oils that are usually considered waste. This technology can reduce the negative impact of the palm oil industry on the environment and provide significant added value to this sector.
CBD Greenlabs, Eunike Salduna, stated that this award was a new start and encouragement so that the transformation to biochemicals in Indonesia could be carried out on a massive scale for the good of the environment and health.
Real Tech Holding Singapore Award also provides prizes in the form of capital funding and access to an extensive investment network. This will help Greenlabs to expand its influence and continue the development of sustainable chemical technologies.
Greenlabs has demonstrated great potential in driving innovation in the fields of biochemistry and palm oil utilization. Their achievements at Techplanter Demo Day emphasize that students and young people have an important role in creating sustainable solutions that have a positive impact on society and the environment.
