FMIPA ITB AND CHEMISTRY PROGRAM FMIPA ITB COLLABORATED WITH IAKI (CHEMISTRY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION) ITB AND HMK AMISCA ITB ORGANIZE “PELATIHAN MENGENAL POTENSI DIRI DALAM MENGHADAPI DUNIA KERJA”
BANDUNG, fmipa.itb.ac.id, -To do self-development when involved in the work, students need the ability to express their potential. This is especially needed before students decide on their next career after graduating. This personal potential will be expressed in writing in Curriculum Vitae and verbally during job interviews, so this ability is important to have. On the other hand, it is hoped that the aspirations expressed by alumni can increase the self-confidence of students/prospective alumni when applying for jobs.
FMIPA Student Affairs and Chemistry Study Program ITB in collaboration with ITB Chemistry Student Association, AMISCA, and the ITB Chemistry Alumni Association initiated Career Bulding training at the BSC-A Building on December 16, 2023. In this activity, they discussed recognizing one’s potential, writing a CV, tips for facing job interviews, stages in career building and management, and competencies needed in the work. This activity is intended for final year students as prospective graduates/graduates in the FMIPA ITB environment. This activity is also supported by the Nadiso Lab Company which is owned by one of the ITB Chemistry alumni.
Deputy Dean of Academic, FMIPA ITB, Prof. Rukman Hertadi, M.Si., said in his speech that this activity is really needed in facing the world of work, so that students do not make the wrong move in determining the career they will pursue after completing their studies at ITB. Additionally, current industrial needs not only require a high GPA, but also hard skills and soft skills obtained during college. Prof. Rukman encouraged this activity to be carried out regularly every 2-3 months for FMIPA students.
Chairman of ITB Chemistry Alumni Association, Indra Rinaldhi, S.Si., said that this activity is a form of contribution from alumni who have expertise in their fields to prospective alumni or young alumni, so that they can update the standard requirements needed by the industry, especially managing their own potential so they can prepare and determine a suitable career after completing college studies.
This activity was carried out guided by a professional mentor who is also an ITB Chemistry alumni, experienced in providing training for HRD divisions in companies, namely Zulchaidir Ubaidillah, M.M., (KI’92) who is a Strategic Human Capital & Organization Development Specialist.
Students gave a positive response to this activity. Their understanding and insight increases significantly, they also realize the importance of exploring their own potential in preparing for a career after graduation.
