Research Fellowships of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation

Are you a highly qualified postdoctoral student or experienced researcher from a developing country or emerging economy? And are you interested in spending a period of time researching in Germany? Then apply for a Georg Forster Research Fellowship of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation

The fellowship allows you to spend between six months and two years working at a research institution in Germany and collaborating with host researchers of your own choice. ‘The fellowship has helped me to gain additional experience that allowed me to implement my research program at home’, tells Victor Kuete from his experience as a former Georg Forster fellow

from Cameroon. The alumna Nora Medrano from Columbia points out some of the benefits for the partners and children of Georg Forster fellows

Were you able to spend time in Germany as a result of a Georg Forster Fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation or any other fellowship program? What was your experience? Or are you thinking of applying for a fellowship? Discuss your questions and experiences with fellowships in our community group ‘Studium und Forschung’ (Study and Research)!

With best wishes,
